From I-95 South (Portions toll), after crossing into Maryland go about 60 miles. Take I-895 S/Harbor Tunnel Throughway. Take the Moravia Road/to US-40 Pulaski Highway exit, EXIT 14. Keep left at the fork in the ramp. Turn left onto Moravia Rd. Keep straight at the fork in the ramp. Turn slight right onto US-40 W/Pulaski Hwy. Turn slight right onto E Monument St. E Monument St becomes E Madison St. Turn left onto St. Paul Street (MD-2 S). Continue to turn left onto E Pratt St. The hotel is on the left in a tenth of a mile.
From Points North via I-83:
From I-83 S (Crossing into Maryland), Take the I-83 exit, EXIT 23B-A. Take EXIT 23B-A on the left. Merge onto I-83 S/Jones Falls Expy. Continue for 8.4 Miles. Take the St Paul St exit, EXIT 4. Keep left at the fork in the ramp. Turn slight right onto St Paul St. (MD-2 S). Continue to follow St. Paul Street for 1.3 Miles. Turn left onto E Pratt St. The hotel is on the left in 1/10th of a mile.
Public Transportation:
Light Rail: MTA (Maryland Transit Administration) Light Rail provides service between Hunt Valley and BWI Airport. Trains run until midnight on weekdays and Saturdays, and until 7 pm on Sundays and holidays. You can get off at one of two stations: University Center at Baltimore and Howard Streets or Convention Center at Howard and Pratt Streets to get to the Balticon hotel. They both appear to be about the same distance from the hotel.
- From the University Center station follow Howard Street 1 1/2 blocks South to Pratt Street. Turn left to travel EAST on Pratt Street. It is a five block walk to the hotel. You can also pick up the 7, 11, or 19 bus and take it to Calvert or South St. (The hotel is on Pratt between Calvert and South Streets.)
- From the Convention Center stop, exit North to Howard Street northbound. Turn right onto Pratt Street. It is a five block walk to the hotel. You can also pick up the 7, 11, or 19 bus and take it to Calvert or South St.
Baltimore Metro Subway: MTA (Maryland Transit Administration) Metro Subway provides service between Owings Mills and East Baltimore. Trains run daily until midnight. The closest Metro Subway stop is at Charles Center. Exit the station to St. Paul St. (aka Light St.) and turn SOUTH (St. Paul is one-way southbound). Go 1-1/2 blocks to Lombard Street, turn left. Go one block to Calvert Street, turn right. You can enter the hotel through the Gallery Mall. (Do not confuse the Baltimore Metro Subway with the Washington Metro, which does not service Baltimore or Balticon.)
Bus:
- MTA (Maryland Transit Administration) local buses 7, 10, 11, 19, 30, 35, and 46 all travel within one block of the hotel. Buses 1, 5, 8, 20, 23, 36, 40, 61 and 64 all travel within a few blocks of the hotel, and most other buses travel to the downtown Baltimore area. Some buses run 24 hours per day.
- Charm City Circulator runs free buses around downtown Baltimore. The Orange and Purple lines run past the hotel, and the Banner line stops one block away. Buses run until midnight Friday and Saturday, until 8pm Sunday and Monday.
AMTRAK: You will arrive at Penn Station in downtown Baltimore – avoid the middle of night because there is no Light Rail service (check schedules). You can reach AMTRAK at 800-523-8720 Tr 800-872-7245. Then take the Light Rail south to the University Center station.
Greyhound: You will arrive in downtown Baltimore at 2110 Hains St. You can take the 27 bus to travel 0.9 mi. to the Camden Yards station, or walk 0.5 mi. to the Hamburg Street Light Rail station and take it to the Convention Center Station, then follow the above directions from the Convention Center station. Check schedules to make sure you can make connections.
