SUNDAY NIGHT SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

For the 13th consecutive year, BSFS sponsors a Short Film Festival (BSFF). Balticon Short Film Festival has been held traditionally on Sunday night, and presents animated and live action science fiction, fantasy, and horror films from independent filmmakers all over the world. For Balticon 50, we are trying something new. The Balticon Short Film Festival will be screend in approximately two- to three-hour sessions throughout the weekend, thus giving more members opportunites to watch and vote on the films and letting us screen more films. The focus of the Balticon Short Film Festival (BSFF) will still be on independently produced short (under 52 minutes run time) works in the science fact, science fiction, fantasy, and horror genres. We screen live action and animation projects which have been completed in the two years prior to the festival year. This is a competitive festival with winners in two (sometimes three) categories determined by audience rating. Award ribbons and/or certificates are given for audience favorite animated, live action, music video and specialty films (science fact, science history, experimental films).

For entry guidelines and forms, or for more information about the Balticon Film Festival, see the following documents:

In addition, the B50 SFF seeks to support the work of independent filmmakers by premiering independently produced feature-length films. We like to have one or two on Friday or Saturday evening and we are happy to consider family-friendly premieres (equivalent to G, PG or PG-13 ratings) for Saturday and Sunday mornings and afternoons. We hope to bring you other independent feature-length and short films as time and space allow.

We accept proposals for film premieres and other feature films as well as film festival submissions year-round.
